2 at the price of one :D

So here are 2 pictures together. The first one is of our national bird peacock which is my favourite bird since I was a kid. I used to wait in the rain and wish it just dances once. I did saw it but it was in zoo. We still have loads of peacocks around my place in India. I like the sketch though, I used the reference from the following web blog http://kalaalog.com/2008/03/28/drawing-a-dancing-peacock/ which provides instructions on how to draw a peacock. This is my first try and I guess it turned out good. I did it just using a pencil.

The second one is a lame effort at trying to recreate a famous picture I found online. Its just a horrible effort but come on it is an effort :) I know it looks like she is balancing on one side of her bottom I guess I should stick to drawing non human.

I have no clue what is wrong in the women picture.

Black and White

I love the pictures of winter with trees haunting the serene atmosphere of a house in the background. Though, frankly speaking I would hate it in real world but I like to draw it for some reason. I tried my hand at it using just a pencil I think I need to work on vertical depth in pictures as one of my friend suggested was lacking in this picture of mine. So after the scene was done I realized I am horrible at drawing the base of the trees, they looked like X-Rays so I cropped the picture and adjusted the contrast to get the picture. I guess I like it now ;)

Basic Sketch - Vase with flowers

This is the first thing I ever learnt to draw when I was a kid; ofcourse it used to look much stupid that time with a triangular vase and flowers without petals. So I started with the same thing I had in my mind forever and tried to use some shading and make flowers look pretty. I have never formally learnt sketching so I am just sketching what I think is pretty. After I finished this one I realized the vase looks disporpotionate but it was too late. Any comments or techniques would be appreciated :) untill they are not harsh on poor me !!!
